    Benchmarks have turned choppy due to lack of buying conviction amongst insider trading stock investors at current levels. Weak opening of European peers also dampened sentiments. Gains in technology stock market tips FMCG and oil&gas space were offset by losses in realty, operator trading tip auto and banks.

    Prime Minister Manmohan Singh made a stock market statement in the Lok Sabha on the arrest and subsequent release of social activist Anna Hazare. He said that the protesting methods of Hazare were "misconceived" and demand to impose his prohibition of insider trading own version of the bill were unacceptable and undemocratic.

    At 1:15 pm; National Stock Exchange's Nifty was at 5047.50, up 11.70 points or 0.23 per cent. The broader index touched a high of 5112.15 and low of 5017.25 in trader so far.

    Bombay Stock Exchange's Sensex was at 16760.62, up 29.68 points or 0.18 per cent. The 30-operator share tips index touched intraday low of 16708.98 and high of 17000.38. BSE Midcap Index was down trading strategies 1.24 per cent and BSE Smallcap Index declined 1.63 per cent.
